New Addition to Pastor Rus Ministries.

The funny thing about writing is that after a while of doing it you seem to cover the same topics that you have already covered.  This is especially true of folks like me who write based on a series of scripture texts chosen for me by an arbitrary source...in my case the lectionary.  As such holidays in particular tend to be times where the same Bible texts, or at least stories, crop up year after year.  To avoid repeating myself I keep an archive of things I have written to re-visit each year just to make sure that I have not unwittingly repeated myself.  I discovered one year that I had written a witty and brilliant newsletter article which somehow was nearly word for word what I had written three years prior....which I had completely forgotten about.
So, this year while re-reading my previous Holy Week/Easter musings I made something of a personal discovery:  they weren't half bad.  OK, I know what you're thinking and no I am not patting myself on the back...I usually don't like my own work and tend to be pretty self-conscious about it.  But while digging through old files I came across a few that I really actually liked.  I had published them in different mediums: some in paper form, some on FB, others were podcasts, and at least one was an old radio program I had done.  So I got to thinking, "What if I published them here from time to time under the heading of "Re(tro)view" and simply tossed them in as bonuses.
So, I give you Re(tro)view (and hey, I have an "R" for my "P" and "R" again).  The first one ought to drop this week.  Hope you like it.
