Pondering the disaster-election.
A liberal friend of mine asked me the other day why more conservatives were not outraged about the recently leaked tape of The Donald saying, dare I say, "deplorable" things about women. For the sake of full disclosure: I am neither conservative nor liberal, Democrat or Republican. I have one loyalty and one allegiance alone. I belong to the Kingdom of God and my King is Jesus Christ. I serve these things alone. I support whatever candidate or party best serves the interests of my King and Kingdom. Anyway back to the topic at hand: TrumpTapeGate. I thought for a moment and answered:
The reason is that no one voting Republican this year went to bed the night before thinking "That playboy billionaire with a string of supermodel ex-wives sure is an upstanding paragon of virtue." When they woke to the news of the tape they shrugged their shoulders sadly and said, "Well at least he is still no Hillary"
Likewise if all of those thousands of deleted emails showed up sorted and categorized by offense on the doorstep of the GOP today providing a smoking gun for Benghazi, the Chinese connection, or proving murder/assassination in any one of the mysterious deaths of those who opposed Hillary most people voting Democrat would wake up tomorrow and sadly shrug their shoulders and say, "At least she isn't Trump."
What we have this year is an indictment of the entirety of our two party structure and of the integrity of those who run them. I pray for our nation daily because what we are seeing played out in our nation's politics is nothing less than a country held hostage by two magnificently poor decisions on our two party's parts which are leaving Americans voting their conscience not for a candidate who is good, but against the one who is worse.
